Dr. Holly Wurtz
Naturopathic Physician | Vermont Department of Professional Regulation
Currently, conventional medicine offers little hope to someone with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis and it remains a leading cause of death in the U.S. We can change this and offer people hope. A wave of research conducted in the field of neurology is helping to deconstruct conditions like Alzheimer’s disease in a way that allows us to identify the underlying causes of neurodegenerative conditions.
Besides being a naturopathic doctor, I am a wife, mother to two incredible young men, writer, speaker and researcher. Just like you, I’ve had my own health challenges that dominated my life for years. I spent most of my 20s and 30s dealing with health problems including weight gain, “brain fog,” profound fatigue and crippling depression and anxiety. My symptoms would wax and wane. When it would become unbearable, I would consult my primary care doctor who would suggest a new medication. Sometimes the medication would provide a bit of relief from the symptoms, but often not for long. The symptoms would always come back and sometimes be even worse. Honestly, there were times when I felt that life wasn’t worth living because I was so tired of feeling sick.
