My Story
As co-founder of the Midwest Center for Brain Health, my mission is to help people who want to optimize their brain health through leading-edge, science-based medicine.
A wave of medical research is helping healthcare practitioners to deconstruct neurological conditions and identify the underlying drivers of neurodegeneration. After working almost two decades in the field of biomedical research, in addition to my clinical practice, I have delved deep into the latest research on brain health to develop a cutting edge, comprehensive program with Dr. Kenton Anderson focused on the prevention and reversal of cognitive decline and optimizing brain health for conditions such as Alzheimer’s, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, autism spectrum disorders, depression and more.
Our goal at MCBH is to stop neurodegeneration in its tracks and help our patients reclaim their lives so they can enjoy many more productive, fulfilling years.
Besides being a naturopathic doctor, I am a wife, mother to two incredible young men, writer, speaker and researcher. Just like you, I’ve had my own health challenges that dominated my life for years. I spent most of my 20s and 30s dealing with health problems including weight gain, “brain fog,” profound fatigue and crippling depression and anxiety. My symptoms would wax and wane. When it would become unbearable, I would consult my primary care doctor who would suggest a new medication. Sometimes the medication would provide a bit of relief from the symptoms, but often not for long. The symptoms would always come back and sometimes be even worse. Honestly, there were times when I felt that life wasn’t worth living because I was so tired of feeling sick.
A New Approach to Health
Working with Me
In Latin, the word doctor (docere) means “teacher.” I have a passion for empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to transform their lives.
The pursuit of health is not a linear process, and my own experience helped me understand that there are often road bumps along the way. My job is to help you stay on track with focus and motivation so you can rewrite the story of your life. It’s time to leave illness behind and step into a new future filled with vibrant wellness. Here’s to creating health!
