Midwest Center for Brain Health is actively taking a variety of steps and devoting resources to further enhance the accessibility of HelpforYourBrain.com.

HelpforYourBrain.com makes available the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget that is powered by a dedicated accessibility server. This software allows HelpforYourBrain.com to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). The accessibility widget can be enabled by clicking the accessibility icon that appears on the bottom left corner of all website pages.

In addition, HelpforYourBrain.com uses the Divi Accessibility WordPress Plugin that further improves accessibility in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, such as:

  • Adding appropriate ARIA attributes
  • Improved keyboard navigation in menus
  • Makes modules such as toggle & accordion focusable and keyboard interactive
  • Adds a visual outline to focusable elements for keyboard-only navigation
  • Ability to change the keyboard-only outline color
  • Hide icons from screen readers which can affect the reading of text

The Midwest Center for Brain Health also strives to implement the relevant portions of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA) as its web accessibility standard.

HelpforYourBrain.com will be tested on a periodic basis using assistive technology such as screen readers and screen magnifiers, and will be tested by users with disabilities who use these technologies.
